About the Authors

Dr. Mauriello received a Ph.D. in history from Brown University.

He specializes in nineteenth and twentieth century European history. He is currently a Professor of History and Chair of History Department at Salem State University, Salem, MA.

He has published articles in the field of European history and presented numerous papers at professional conferences. He has also published articles on the role of technology in society, culture and education.

He is currently working on a book about contemporary culture and the Nazi past.


Mr. Regan holds an A.B. degree from Boston College, a Master's Degree from Harvard University, and both an MBA and Juris Doctorate degrees from Suffolk University.

Roland is currently CEO & President of the National Childhood Obesity Foundation, Inc.® www.ncof.org.  Earlier, he was a Principal with the international management consulting firm NAGW/ProMonde, Inc. Even earlier, Roland worked as a Senior Associate with the global management consulting and executive training firm of Harbridge House, Inc. in Boston, MA.

He had earlier served as an Assistant District Attorney for Essex County in Massachusetts after having served nearly five years as an U.S. Air Force officer with the NATO AWACS program attaining the rank of Captain. Roland currently teaches as an adjunct professor at both Harvard and Bentley Universities.
